A sunny Sydney morning, a 29 seater plane and a sense of adventure and excitement were the key elements last week, when I flew out of Sydney on my way to a chilly Orange morning.

I spent the day with Assistant Principals (Hearing) from Orange, Bathurst, Cowra and Dubbo and a Learning and Engagement Advisor from the Orange Schools Office, of the Department of Education and Communities. My welcome couldn’t have been warmer.

We chatted about all things captions and access and the building of teacher capacity, with lots of good ideas coming to the fore.

A visit to Orange High School followed with lots of great discussion as well.
