I am very excited and grateful to have had the opportunity to explore ‘the building of teacher capacity in the use of captioned multimedia for curriculum access’ during my 5-week national study tour.  It’s an area that I feel really passionate about.

Captioned access to multimedia curriculum support materials is essential for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing and students with diverse learning needs.

Here’s the breakdown of my study into its parts:

  • Building teacher capacity
  • The use of captioned multimedia
  • Curriculum access

I explored each of the parts of my study – their challenges and ways to overcome them, and brought it all together, as a response to this issue. The study tour report paper will be publicly available early 2016.
